Obituary of Gladis Burns

Funeral service for Gladis Burns, age 89, of Miller Grove will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 13, 2012, at West Oaks Funeral Home with Rev. David Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Jason Payne, Jeff Payne, Jon Eric Nordin, Landon Nordin, Clint Myrick and Chip Tulley serving as pallbearers. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to service time at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Burns died Saturday morning, August 11, at Carriage House Manor. She was born in Hopkins County on April 1, 1923, the daughter of E. M and Gerrie (Coke) Harrison. She married Frank Burns on July 28, 1967 in Cumby, TX. He survives. She was a member of First Baptist Church for over 62 years. Mrs. Burns worked for Cannon Craft for 26 years and Wal-Mart for 13 years. Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Nordin and husband Johnny of Sulphur Springs, Martha Payne and husband Howard of Rockwall; daughter-in-law Charlotte Burns of Miller Grove; grandchildren, Jason Payne and wife Lanita, Jeff Payne and wife Amanda, Jennifer Myrick and husband Clint, Jon Eric Nordin and wife Laura, Landon Nordin and wife Carla and Ashley Burns; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Neoma Goodman of Clarksville. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-son, Larry Burns; 4 brothers, Haskell, Orren, Woodrow and Monard Harrison.
