Obituary of John Highfield

Funeral service for John David Highfield, 55, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 29, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Fred Lewis and Bro. Mark Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Keith Tuck, Ronny Birchfield, Ronald “Squirrel” Wills, Danny Blount, Clay Walker, Sigmond Wright, and Daryl “Bones” Boyd serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. prior to service time. David passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 in Sulphur Springs. He was born on August 28, 1957 in Sulphur Springs to Elwood and Merle (Beville) Highfield. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He worked as a welder for Ronny’s Welding. He was married to Lisa Taylor and they have one daughter, Amy Nicole Highfield. He is also survived by his mother, Merle, brother, Tony Highfield and wife Marcia of Ft. Worth, niece, Haley Holliday and husband Seth, and nephew, Wesley Highfield and wife Linda. He was preceded in death by his father in 1973 and twin brother, Steve in 1996.
