Obituary of David Correia

David O. Correia, 62 of Sulphur Springs passed away on July 26, 2012. He was born on October 23, 1949 in Raminho, Terceira, Azores the son of Frank and Ilda (Ornelas) Correia. David was a good and faithful servant who loved the Lord. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. David was employed at Dairy Farmers of America for 21 years and was loved by everyoneÂ’s lives he touched. David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ilda Correia. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Ruth Correia, son, David F. Correia of Gainesville, TX 2 daughters, Candi Prestidge and husband Jeremy of Hawkins, TX, and Jennifer Goulet and husband Jason of Jarrell, TX. Brothers, Lee Correia and wife Carmen of CA, and Manuel Correia and wife Henrietta of Sulphur Springs, TX. Sisters, Mary Azevedo and husband Joe of CA and Luciana Ferreira and husband Ramiro of CA. Grandchildren, Lacey Morris, Cyle Gumpert, Blake, Macey and Kylea Correia, Cassidy, Baylee and Jayden Prestidge and Evan and Natalie Goulet, great-grandson, Brayden Cundiff. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 a.m., at First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs with Rev. Pete Adrian and Rev. Debbie Riggsby officiating. Interment to follow at Gafford Chapel Cemetery with Johnny Oler, Manuel Correia, Jason Goulet, Ed Pollacek, Jeremy Prestidge and Scott State serving as pallbearers.
