Obituary of Warren Brewer
Funeral services for Warren Brewer, age 91, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Lewis and Rev. Mark Bryant officiating. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Tommy Johnston, Don Deaton, Tim Taylor, Gary Conley, Wayne Galyean, Wade Johnston and Donnie Willingham serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Motes, Charlie Charles, John Ward, Robert Carpenter, James Diamond, Rickey Cook, Jerry Haney, Gene White and the Joy Sunday School Class and the deacons who served with Warren on pulpit committees for so many years. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to service time at First Baptist Church. Mr. Brewer passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab. Mr. Brewer was born on November 12, 1920 in Mt. Vernon the son of Marcus Newton and Vera (Hatch) Brewer. He married Opal Hunnicutt 71 years ago on Christmas Day 1941. She survives. Mr. Brewer was a butcher for Piggly Wiggly for over 25 years. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Brewer was an active member of the First Baptist Church and was an active Deacon from 1951 until 1998 and was also the 2nd recipient of the ChurchÂ’s Deacon Emeritus Award. In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons, Warren Brewer, Jr., David Brewer and wife Jo Beth all of Sulphur Springs, 7 grandchildren, Shawn Brewer and wife Lauri, Brian Brewer and wife Jeannie, C. J. Ghaemmeghami and husband Ommid, Sarah Palmer and husband John, Whitney Brewer, Brandon Brewer and wife Kristi and Casey Brewer and wife Dana, 14 great-grandchildren, Cara, Clay and Colton Brewer, Austin and Autumn Brewer, Makenzie, Madison and Cameron Ghaemmeghami, Spencer, Braylea and Benjamin Brewer, Harleigh, Elly and Jack Brewer. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, Weldon Brewer, Olan Brewer, Betty Frances Lamb, Roy Brewer, Pearl Brewer, Maude Clinton, Raymond Brewer, Guy Brewer and Elsie Fay Bolger.
