Obituary of Kathryn James

Funeral services for Kathryn James, age 90, of College Station, TX, formerly of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Myra Wilson Chapel with Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Tim Gee, Christopher Gee, Robert Hanley, Bryan Burney, Kyle Burney, Zack Burney and Stephen Morello serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. James passed away Monday, July 23, 2012. Mrs. James was born on May 27, 1922 in Cooper, TX, the daughter of Jess and Bertha (Anderson) Spencer. Mrs. James was a Junior High School teacher in Bryan for a short time and Sulphur Springs for the majority of her career which was 30 years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Sulphur Springs. She is survived by her son Jim James and wife Sue and grandson, Buck James all of College Station; sister, Jean Strickland of Sulphur Springs; nieces, Marilyn Bromby, Linda Payne, Carol Gee, Sharon Burney and Frances Kimbrough. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Martha Spencer. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
