Obituary of Rosaire Bergeron
Funeral mass of Christian Burial for Rosaire “Ray” Laurent Bergeron, 72, of Pickton, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Susai and Father Bowlin officiating. Military Graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Howard Pattberg, Joe Ames, Ronny Denton, Bernie Thesing, Steve Shing, and Larry Powers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Bergeron passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at his residence. He was born on October 16, 1939 in Martinville, Province of Quebec, CA, the son of Joseph I. and Helene (Fecteau) Bergeron. He married Gloria Foster on July 29, 1972 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. Hood, was an active member of St. James Catholic Church and their “maintenance man”, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, worked on Bicentennial Train in Miami, FL for Amtrak, and also owned his own dairy. He is survived by sons, Robert Bergeron and wife Amanda of Ft. Rucker, AL, John Paul Bergeron and wife Nurul of Valley View, TX, David Bergeron of Pickton, TX, grandchildren, Ashley Bergeron of Nacogdoches, TX, Taylor, Logan, and Peyton Bergeron of Ft. Rucker, AL, Julia, Gabby, Jazlynna, and Jayden Bergeron of Valley View, TX, Lee Bergeron of Pickton, TX, brother, Andre Bergeron and wife Rose of Dade City, FL, sisters, Laurette LaMadeleine and husband Richard of Hollywood, FL, Alice Amyot and husband Henry of Barton, VT, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the St. James Catholic Church Building Fund, c/o Ann Smith, 297 Texas St., Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
