Obituary of Patsy Petty

Funeral services for Patsy Sue Petty, age 77, of Cumby, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Brashear Baptist Church with Rev. David Burns and Duncan Graham officiating. Interment will follow at Cumby Cemetery with Bill Bessonett, Craig Buck, Jackie Holley, Ronnie Hoops, Russell Caldwell, Monte Lackey, Perry Preas and Gene George serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Smith and Leon Higginbotham. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Petty passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at Hunt Memorial Hospital in Greenville. Mrs. Petty was born on November 4, 1934 in Pauls Valley, OK, the daughter of Austin and Eula Mae (Whitefield) Barnes. She married Vernon Dale Petty on August 2, 1950 in Cumby. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2010. Mrs. Petty was a homemaker and a member of Brashear Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Ronny Petty and wife Mary of Cumby, Jeff Petty and wife Laurie of Dallas; one daughter, Janice Petty of Cumby; brother, Larry Barnes of Texarkana, TX; sister, June Davis of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Christy Petty, Tara Petty Anderson, Lisa Petty, Ethan Petty and Sarah Petty. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harold Barnes. Memorials may be made to the Cumby Cemetery Association, P. O.
