Obituary of Gwen Boatman

Gwendolyn Harris Boatman, “Mi Mi”, went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2012. She was born in Sulphur Springs on October 23, 1941 to Paul N. Harris and Leta Harris York. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul N. Harris and sister, Judy Fay. Gwen married her high school sweetheart Gene Boatman who survives her. She is also survived by two sons, Toby Boatman and his wife Sandy, Todd Boatman and his wife Angela, four grandsons, Joshua Blake and wife Tye, Jacob Heath and wife Ashton, Nathan Daniel and wife Shanna, and Ethan Tobin, five great-grandchildren, her mother, Leta Harris York, along with a host of other loving family and friends. Gwen and her husband Gene owned and operated Mimi’s Antiques on the Square and Boatman Garage Doors. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery. Pallbearers are Bill Frazier, Ronny Parris, Carey Endrazzi, Frank Henson, Chris Gibbins, and Mark Warren. Honorary pallbearers will be the grandsons.
