Obituary of James Clifford Loggins
Funeral services for James Clifford Loggins, age 83, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Spence Chapel, First Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating and Bro. Harold Wright assisting. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Lucas Wise, Graham Robinson, Chance Loggins, James Loggins, Kaleb Wallace and Daniel Loggins serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hopkins County Military Coalition and the Roy Smith Sunday School Class. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Loggins passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Loggins was born on October 27, 1928 in Lake Ceek, TX, the son of James Rylie and Mary Elizabeth (Mills) Loggins. He married Louise Armstrong on August 29, 1952 in Paris, TX. She survives. Mr. Loggins retired in 1987 from Texas Power and Light after 35 years. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the Hopkins County Coalition. He was also a member of First Baptist Church and was in the Roy Smith Sunday School Class. He volunteered for many years for Meals on Wheels and was Senior volunteer of the year three years ago. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Cindy Loggins Wise and husband Glen, Vickie Loggins Robinson and husband Rick, Jim Loggins and wife Liana, Jeff Loggins and wife Holly and David Loggins and wife Rhonda, brother, Wendell Loggins, grandchildren, Daniel Loggins, Johnna Nolen, Amanda Breeden, Stephanie Booker, Garrett Loggins, Lucas Wise, Graham Robinson, Molly Wise, James Carter Loggins and James Chance Loggins, 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Mission Fund, 116 Oaks Avenue, Sulphur Springs, Texas 75482.
