Obituary of Francisco Melendez

A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Hopkins County Civic Center. Interment will follow at Richland Cemetery with Tony Hughes, Larry Blount, Tim Clem, Frank Contreras, Tony Contreras, Lupe Contreras, Manuel L. Hernandez, Sr., Manuel L. Hernandez, Jr., Darren Arnecke and Roy Taylor serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church. Francisco Javier Melendez, age 42, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Melendez was born September 1, 1969 in San Felipe, Mexico, the son of J. Juan Melendez Morales and Maria Zuniga Rincon. Mr. Melendez was a very dedicated worker for the City of Sulphur Springs for 14 years. He was a member and supporter of St. James Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Francisco was a friend to his neighbors and an honor to his community. He is survived by his wife Maria de Lourdes, his son Francisco Jr. and his parents J. Juan Melendez and Maria Zuniga Rincon. Other survivors include brothers, Marino Melendez Zuniga and wife Juana, Santiago Melendez Zuniga and wife Incia Camacho, Ismael Melendez Zuniga and wife Ines Perez, Jesus Melendez Zuniga and wife Ramona Garcia, Eliceo Melendez Zuniga and wife Ema Ramirez, sisters, Yolanda Melendez Zuniga and husband Arturo Servin, Juana Melendez Zuniga and husband Gerardo Rodriguez, Engracia Melendez Zuniga and husband Juan, Monica Galan, Godchildren, Tiffany Contreras, Tony Contreras, Mary Lopez, Frank Jr. Contreras, Jessica Alvarez, Samantha Contreras, God-children, Manuel L.
