Obituary of John Molohon

Funeral services for John James Molohon, age 99, of Van, formerly of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Susai Avula officiating and Deacon Loren Seely assisting. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Molohon passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Van Health Care in Van, TX. Mr. Holohon was born on January 26, 1913 in Christian County, IL, the son of Frank and Lulu (Simon) Molohon. He married Mary Young on June 16, 1947 in Morrisonville, FL. She survives. He moved to Texas in 1975 and loved Hopkins County and its people. He was a lifelong farmer, rancher and gardener. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was a member of the 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and Color Corps. He also enjoyed selling Knights of Columbus ham and turkey raffle tickets. Other survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Kuntzman , grandson Aaron Kuntzman, great-grandchildren, Jordan Kuntzman and Caleb Kuntzman, sister-in-law Mary Ann Landgrebe all of Van, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Amanda Muster, brothers, Charlie Molohon, Joseph Molohon, George Molohon and Paul Molohon.
