Obituary of Carolyn McCurdy
Funeral services for Carolyn Annice McCurdy, age 59, of Scroggins, TX, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 10, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Connor Cemetery with Larry Nichols, Lynn Newton, Lyman Duckwitz, Bob Kerr, Johnny Marshal, Roy Strout and John Largent serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00, Thursday, February 9, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. McCurdy passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Mrs. McCurdy was born on July 8, 1952 in Sulphur Springs the daughter of John Bernice and Mary Ann (Cayton) Goldsmith. She married Glen McCurdy and he survives. Mrs. McCurdy was a homemaker, she worked at the Mt. Vernon Elementary School cafeteria, and she was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 5398 in Pittsburg, was a member of the Group 12 Motorcycle Club and was of the Baptist faith. Other survivors include one daughter, Dana Goldsmith of Sulphur Springs, brothers, Bert Wayne Goldsmith and wife Sheila of Big Lake, TX, Ronnie Goldsmith and wife Carron of Dallas, TX, sisters, Debbie Hammons and husband Bennie of Ft. Towson, OK, Linda Walton of Forney, TX, Cindy Newkirk and husband Thurman of Sulphur Springs, Regina Goldsmith of Sulphur Springs, Irene Goldsmith of Dallas, TX and Mistier Knighton and husband Charles of Mt. Vernon, grandchildren, Danyelle Carter, C. J. Carter, Jonathan Smith, great-grandson, John Carter and numerous nieces and nephews.
