Obituary of Harold Miller

Funeral services for Harold Dwain Miller, age 83, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 26, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Tinsley and Rev. David Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Brashear Cemetery with Michael Petty, Ray Petty, Johnny Petty, Steve Petty, Roger Petty and Dewayn Brzeski serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Petty, Craig Buck and Tyler Childers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Miller passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Miller was born on June 20, 1928 in Brashear, TX, the son of Gilbert and Maudie (Morehead) Miller. He married Ruth George Petty in 1992 in Brashear, TX. She survives. Mr. Miller was a member of Central Baptist Church as well as a trustee for several years. He farmed his whole life and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Other survivors include his daughter Lorrie White of Royse City, step-sons, Michael Petty of Sulphur Springs, Ray Petty of Sulphur Springs, Johnny Petty of Cumby, Steve Petty of Alamo and Roger Petty of Cumby, step-daughters, Jan Buck of Brashear and Jeannie Petty of Cumby, one brother, Ray Miller of Sulphur Springs, 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Grace Williams in 1991, brother, Doyle Miller, grandson Gregg Gamblin and granddaughter, Trish Gedrose.
