Obituary of Don Petty

Graveside service for Donald Eugene Petty, Sr. will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Nelta Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Jenkins officiating and David Bynum assisting. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Petty passed away on January 18, 2012 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, TX at the age of 74. He was born on July 29, 1937 in Ft. Worth, TX, the son of Eugene Fields and Velma Ruth (Henderson) Petty. He married Sylvia Flippin on June 20, 1956 in Ft. Worth, TX. She survives. He was a member of the Lewisville Church of Christ. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Don Jr. and wife Beth Petty of Arlington, TX, daughters, Diana Trionne Smith and husband Brady Kent of Irving, Elizabeth Ruth Bynum and husband David Otto of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Robin Dawn Filbeck and husband James William of Irving, and sister, Karen Lynn Villareal and husband Jimmy of Mineral Wells, TX.
