Obituary of George Ellis

Memorial services for George Ronald Ellis, age 61, a student at Texas A&M University of Commerce where he was getting his Bachelor of Science Degree and was to graduate in June, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012 in the West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ed Ellis officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Ellis passed away Friday, January 13, 2012 in his Honor Society Dorm. Mr. Ellis was born on August 3, 1950 in Sumter, SC, the son of Edgar Heb, Sr and Grace (Collins) Ellis. He was on the Presidents List and the DeanÂ’s List at both Texas A&M Commerce and Paris Junior College. He was an honor student. He served in the United States Army for six years and was discharged as a Lieutenant. He was of the Episcopal Faith. He was also an International Chef. He is survived by his brothers, Dr. Ed Ellis and wife Charlotte of Columbia, SC and Melt Ellis of Sulphur Springs, sister, Marca J. Hanna and husband Jerry of Sulphur Springs, two daughters, Shannon and Kelly Ellis of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, LaRoy Franklin Ellis, two sisters, Marilyn Rose and Loretta Grace Ellis.
