Obituary of Charles Mitchell
Memorial services for Charles Meredith “Bud” Mitchell, age 75, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Fellowship Christian Church with Rev. Tom Frisbie officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will take place at 10:00 a.m., prior to the memorial service at Richland Cemetery in the Brinker Community with Rick Mitchell, David Janes, Jon Janes, Adam Janes, Andy Modawell and Jeff Modawell serving as pallbearers. Mr. Mitchell passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Mr. Mitchell was born on December 25, 1936 in Lubbock, TX, the son of Clarence Meredith and Neta Mae (Whitley) Mitchell. He married Janice Jeter on August 28, 1958 in Lubbock, TX. She survives. Mr. Mitchell was a member of Fellowship Christian Church, he served in the United States Marines during the Korean conflict and was a civilian aircraft mechanic during Vietnam, and he was a past VFW member. Other survivors include one son, Rick Mitchell and wife Laura of Sulphur Springs, one daughter Tina Modawell and husband Andy of Frisco, TX, sister, Truda Pinkston of Lubbock, TX, grandchildren, David Aaron Janes, Jonathan Michael Janes, Thomas Adam Janes, Matthew Lane Mitchell, Kaden Shae Mitchell, one great-grandchild, Anna Jaye Janes, numerous nieces and nephews and the numerous others that called our house home.
