Obituary of Sybil Cromer

Funeral services for Sybil Inez Massey Cromer, age 89, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 at Spence Chapel, First Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Lewis, Bro. Tommy Johnston and Rev. James Diamond officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Chris Cromer, Bryan DuBose, Larry Blount, Danny Ray, Jim Peek and Keith Kid serving as pallbearer. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to service time. Sybil went to be with her Lord on January 3, 2012 at Carriage House Manor. Sybil was born to Clyde and Mable Massey on June 14, 1922. Her husband, R. C. “Son” Cromer, of 63 years, passed away in 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Billy Joe, age 2, Troy Jack, age 5, Durwood Massey and one sister, Bobbie LaRue Massey Byrom. Mrs. Cromer was a retired credit manager of Sears & Roebuck, a housewife and as a member of First Baptist Church was active in the children’s department as a teacher and pianist for many years. Sybil is survived by 2 sons, Charles Cromer and wife Lou Ellen of Sulphur Springs, Billy Mack Cromer of Lake Fork, 2 grandchildren, Natalie Cromer DuBose and husband Bryan of McKinney and Christ Cromer of Royse City, 3 great-grandchildren, Madeleine and Abigail DuBose and Mason Cromer, and many friends.
