Obituary of Wayne Gross
Funeral services for Wayne Edwin Gross, age 85, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Bosworth officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 prior to service time at Wesley United Methodist Church. Military graveside honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas with Mike Miesse, Richard Watkins, Jeff Foster and Kenny Barrett serving as pallbearers. Mr. Gross passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Gross was born on May 10, 1926 in Burkbernett, TX, the son of Bennie Ernest and Bernice Ella (Rich) Gross. He married Dora Posey on February 27, 1959 in Farmers Branch, TX. She survives. Mr. Gross served in the United States Air Force, was Honorable discharged in 1949. He worked at Collins Radio for many years, he was a lifetime member of VFW, he worked for Meal-A-Day for 9 years and was Meal-A-Day Volunteer of the year in 2008. He was a recipient of the Presidential Volunteer Service award with the RSVP for good hours in 2008. Mr. Gross was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He owned and operated Gross Air condition in Dallas, TX, for 31 years. Other survivors include his brother, B. E. Gross, Jr. and wife Merita of Garland, nieces, Therisa Ann Gross Dunnigin and husband Dr. Richard Dunnigin of Allen, TX, Tina Marie Posey Kinard and husband Barry of Sulphur Springs, Cleo Beatrice Posey of Canton, TX, nephews, Michael Gross and wife Tammie of Woodlands, TX, Sidney Earl Kimbel and wife Shelia of Grand Saline, TX.
