Obituary of James Myrick

A private graveside service for James “Jim” Perry Myrick, age 73, of Sulphur Spring will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Ridgeway Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Henry officiating. Military graveside honors will be performed by the United States Army. No formal visitation. Mr. Myrick passed away Monday, November 14, 2011 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Myrick was born on July 10, 1938 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Archie and Mattie (William) Myrick. He married Jo Rene Patterson on December 31, 1988 in Rockwall, TX. She survives. Mr. Myrick retired after 22 years from the United States Army as a Major. After retiring from the Army he taught public speaking all over the country. Mr. Myrick is survived by one son, Jimmy Myrick and wife Denise of San Jose, CA, one daughter, Kimberly Myrick Bushnell of Houston, step-son, Mark Guthrie and step-daughter, Audrey Struwe and husband Jim all of Sulphur Springs, one brother, Bill Myrick of Housespring, MO, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 7 brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org.
