Obituary of Hazel Gore
Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Lowery Gore, (WaWa), age 88, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Davis Street Baptist Church, with Rev. Andy Comer, Rev. David Burns, and Rev. Tommy Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Campbell, TX, with Ryan Stracener, Joshua Gore, Jacob Gore, Warren Joe Gore, Dewayne Gore, and Danny Hammons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 7, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Gore passed away Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Carriage House Manor. Mrs. Gore was born May, 8, 1923 in Campbell, Texas, the daughter of W.D. and Mattie Lou (Butner) Lowery. Mrs. Gore was a custodian in the Sulphur Springs Independent school District for 35 years. Mrs. Gore was a member of Davis Street Baptist Church. She was WaWa to thousands of children, she worked the concession stand at the ballparks and attended 100’s of Wildcat Football games. Mrs. Gore was a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Gore is survived by her daughters, Dorothy (Sissy) of Sulphur Springs, Cathy Haynesworth and husband Harlan (Klipper) of Brashear, Janice Cope and husband Jimmy of Rockwall, her sons, W.D. “Buddy” Gore and wife Ina of Sulphur Springs, Larry Gore and wife Pam of Sulphur Springs. Grandchildren, Shannon and Randy Steele, , Alan and Jan Hammons, Jeremy Buchanan, Dewayne and Jamie Gore, Tammie and Joe Himes, Bobby White, Danny and Amy Hammons, Warren Joe and Donna Gore, Shelly Gore, Misty and Shane Bowman, Chandra and Steve Crawford, Dustin Haynesworth, Jennifer Cope, Ryan and Haylea Stracener, Joshua Cope, and Jacob Cope, great-grandchildren________, great great-grandchildren________, sister, Letha Harrington and her daughter Linda Harrington of Campbell, TX, sister-in-law Edna Lowery of Campbell, TX as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, B.Q. Lowery, Dick Lowery, Dee Lowery, sisters, Etha Tibbs, Dorothy Nell Lallemont, an infant sister, great-grandson, Jerad Hammons, and grandson, Thomas White.
