Obituary of Geraldine Jackson

Funeral services for Geraldine Tedford Jackson, age 89, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Bryant and Rev. Bruce Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Harmony cemetery in Winnsboro, TX with Steve Bonner, Kevin Monk, Mike Gibson, Alec Bridges, Robbie Tedford, and Tom Sellers serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 28, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Geraldine passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Carriage House Manor. She was born on December 22, 1921 to Jesse Richard Hill and Ella B. Stanley Hill in Cleburne, TX. She graduated from Pickton High School in 1939. She married Bernard Tedford in Scroggins, TX on July 20, 1940. They were blessed with two daughters, Nancy in 1944 and Jill in 1948. She worked for Winnsboro ISD in the tax office until she and Bernard bought a Texaco Distributorship and she went to work in the family business. She was a member of the Progressive Study Group in Winnsboro and the Standard Club in Sulphur Springs. Bernard preceded her in death on February 15, 1976. She later married Charlie Jackson on July 22, 1983. Charlie preceded her in death on March 14, 1993. She is survived by daughters, Jill Mangum and Linda Jackson of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Bryan and Lisa Barclay, Mindy and Matt Bell, and Brent and Sherri Barclay of Sulphur Springs, Amy Fox of Arp, and Jason and Summer Mangum of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Talon Bell, Landri Bell, Win Fox, Kody Barclay, Coen Bell, and Aiden Mangum; sisters, Norma Biggs of Gladewater and Nita Thornton of Vancouver, WA; brother-in-law, Nelo Tedford and wife Eldora of Sulphur Springs; sister-in-law, Sandra Tedford of Fairview; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Nancy Russell; sister, Jessie Fae Stevens; and brother, Valton Watkins.
