Obituary of Sandra Pickett

Sandra Ishmael Pickett, 65 of Sulphur Springs, Texas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at her home surrounded by family. She was born to Jessie Faye Ishmael Walker and the late Melvin Sterling Ishmael on April 30, 1946 in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Sandra graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1964 . She married Joe C. Pickett on December 7, 1987 in Hugo, Oklahoma. Sandra was a member of Shannon Oaks Church and enjoyed any activity that her children and grandchildren were involved in. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Sandra is survived by her mother, Jessie Faye Ishmael Walker of Sulphur Springs and daughters, Cris Hughes of Sulphur Springs, Amber Cody and husband, Stuart of Sulphur Springs, Joie Pickett of Austin, sons Jarred I. Pickett and wife Amanda of Sulphur Springs, Todd Bernhardt and wife Kathy of McAlester, Oklahoma and Jeff Pickett of Wichita Falls, Texas. She is also survived by six granddaughters, Krystal Morton and husband, Mark of Sulphur Springs, Rachael Bernhardt of McAlester, Oklahoma, Toni K. Cody, Maci Merrell, Parris Pickett and Sophie Pickett of Sulphur Springs. Step-brother, Buddy Walker, step-sisters, Joy Wilson and Pat Looney. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe C. Pickett, father, Melvin Ishmael and brothers, Jerry Ben Ishmael and Larry Melvin Ishmael and step-father, J.O. (Orville) Walker. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sherley Cemetery. Pallbearers – David Graves, Scott Stahl, Tory Humphries, Dave Graves, John Paul Roundtree and Scott Norris. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sherley Cemetary, P.O.
