Obituary of Uila Chester

Uila OÂ’ lelagi meaning “Lightening in the Sky” known as Uila Jennings Chester went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, October 9th, 2011 at Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, TX. She resided in Sulphur Springs, TX and was born on Swains Island, Tokelau Islands on December 13th, 1941. She enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo, cooking, music, trail rides, playing cards and games, but especially spending quality time with family and friends. She was survived by her mother, Fanolua Jennings Tu; her son Jeff Chester and his wife, Karla, of Sulphur Springs, TX, her daughter, Jo Lynn Chester of Green Bay, Wisconsin, her son, Jimmy Chester and his fiancée, Lisa Tucker of Sulphur Springs, TX, her son James and his wife, Marie, of Kahului, Maui, her daughter, Jacqueline Waters of Crowley, TX, her son, Junior Chester and his fiancée, Shannon Henry, of Sulphur Springs, TX, her son Jerry Chester of Sulphur Springs, TX and honorary daughter, Lisa Chester of Sulphur Springs, TX; 22 grandchildren Ryan and Sunni Chester, Kayleen and Eddie Perez, Jessica Chester, Kody Chester, Kehl Chester, LeLoni Van Vleet, Laissez Van Vleet, Laci Chester, Casey Chester, Maci and Brandon Fowler, Kayla Chester, Dylan Chester, Brian Floyd, Kelsi Chester, Bryce Chester, Katerina Price, Madison Chester, Taylor Chester, Samantha Chester, Rachel Chester, Blake Chester and Haylee Chester; 10 great grandchildren, Ayden Chester, Koby Perez, Harley Perez, Caden Perez, Bryson Reyes, Adrien Reyes, Dominik Wittkopf, Jersey Fowler, Cade Price and Emme Price;13 sisters Mafaolo K Savea, Fano Savea, Toetu J Mao, Samalaulu Ortiz, Sheila Jennings, Mary Jennings, Makulu Kapesi Laulu, Taumalatou Jennings TaumaleveÂ’a, Malata Jennings Sole, FaÂ’asopo Jennings, Orepa J Thomas, Seepa K. Roy, Swain Kapesi; 10 brothers, Peni J Kapesi Sr., Filo J Kapesi Tu, Charlie Jennings, Etoma Jennings, Falefia Jennings, Taumaoe Kapesi Tu, Tupou Kapesi Tu, Ene Jennings, Aluia Jennings, Aleli Niumatu, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Joe Clinton Chester, 1 grandaughter, Celia Waters, 1 grandson, Jayden Chester; 1 great grandaughter, Presleigh Price, her father, Misikosi Jennings, her step-mother Faileaso Misikosi Jennings, her step-father, Kapesi Tu, her sister Malata Jennings and her 6 brothers Tupou Kapesi, Moke Jennings, Misikosi Jennings Jr., Danny Kapesi, Aleni Kapesi and Sione Jennings. She was the matriarch of our family, a friend to many, and is loved and greatly missed! Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Pogue officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Ryan Chester, Brian Floyd, Casey Chester, Dylan Chester, Kody Chester, Blake Chester, Kehl Chester and Bryce Chester serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
