Obituary of Billie Lou Alice Pendleton

Funeral services for Billie Lou Alice Kelley Pendleton, age 84, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Timothy R. Wright, Jr. and Rev. Tommy Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Nelta Cemetery with Timothy R. Wright, Jr., Joshua B. Pendleton, Jacob W. Pendleton, Luke A. Wright, Thomas E. Pritchett II and Jason M. Newell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Laura Kosub, Sharon Bennett, Pam Elam, Debbie Dicus, Jennifer Weathered and Hospice at Memorial. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Pendleton was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. She passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family and friends. Billie was born on October 11, 1926 in the Beckham Community to parents, Jim Vernon Kelly and Vertie Edmonson Kelley. She married Darrell Boyd Pendleton on December 22, 1945. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1997. While BillieÂ’s primary job was as a homemaker, wife, and mother, she also worked as a CRT Operator for Frito Lay for many years and retired from there in 1988. She was a member of New Richland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. Mrs. Pendleton sponsored an orphan named Ghandi (Gandy) from India. She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Randall Boyd Pendleton and wife Gleeann; Andrew Vernon Pendleton and wife Donna; Sandra Darrelline Pendleton Wright and husband Tim; and Candace Maxine Pendleton Pritchett and husband Tom; 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Glyndon Kelley Weidman and Edna Faye Kelley Lloyd.
