Obituary of Ernest Nichols

Ernest Randall Nichols of Como went to meet his God, Saturday, August 20th 2011. He was born in the Black Oak Community October 15, 1930 to Sherman B. and Bertha Jean Attaway Nichols. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Charles Rayburn Nichols and Allie Vee Everitt, his wife of 54 years Wanna Lee Fox Nichols, and one daughter Nanette Nichols. He was a Navy veteran, a police officer, an educator and a rancher. He was a deacon of the Black Oak Baptist Church. He is survived by a son Randy Nichols and wife Debra of Pensacola, FL, daughter Debbie Winter of Austin, TX, and daughter Penny Armstrong of Como, TX, and three grandsons, Randolph Winter, Nicholas Winter and Jesse Armstrong. Visitation will be atWest Oaks Funeral Home August 21, 2011, 7-9 pm. Funeral Services will be held at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel at 1 pm on Monday, August 22, 2011 with Rev. Lyndon Petty and Rev. Jim Barksdale; Military graveside honors will follow at Como Cemetery with Alan Screws, John Lohr, Jimmy D. OÂ’Dell, Michael Bowen, Lee Arvis Bozeman, Jesse Armstrong and Daniel Walker serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaleb Mund, Brodie Ogle and Mike Lagaschaar.
