Obituary of Tommy Ransom
Funeral services for Tommy Dwight Ransom, age 60, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Herbert Finney officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Yarbough, Damion Nash, Fred Harris, Bob Bonner, Marcell Lee, and Ralph Lee. Visitation will be held from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Mr. Ransom passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 17, 1951 in Sulphur Springs, the son of Fregie and Sybil (Fletcher) Ransom. Tommy was a butcher for the Hopkins County Food Locker. He is survived by sons, Tony Ransom of Kansas, Bryant Duke of California, daughters, Teresa Ransom of Dallas, Tameisha Ransom and Khadijah Ransom both of Pittsburgh, brothers, Timothy Ransom, George Ransom, Dizzy Ransom, and Loyce Ransom all of Sulphur Springs, Olan Nash of Amarillo, Lorenza Ransom of Houston, Johnny Nash of Fort Stockton, sister, Abbie Nash of Dallas, 7 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jerry Ransom, and sisters, Quencie Ransom and Belinda Thomas. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
