Obituary of Alvis Critchet

Funeral services for Alvis Lynn Critchet, age 62, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2011 at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Susai Avula officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Shane Johns, Terry Johns, Joe Ames, Lewis Jones, John Desherow and Mike Safford serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Lynn Clanton. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Jerry Beasey. Mrs. Critchet passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Critchet was born on January 26, 1949 in Dallas, TX, the daughter of Marcus Ivan and Myrtle Hogg Duke. She married Mark Dwain Critchet on June 29, 1991 in Quitman, TX. He survives. Mrs. Critchet was a homemaker. She was a member of the Ladies Guild and St. James Catholic Church. Other survivors include one son, Patrick Nichols of Sulphur Springs, daughters, Kelly and husband Terry Johns, Lorri Johns and husband Shane all of Sulphur Springs, step-daughters, Megan Burill and husband Dave, Betsy Roberts and husband Drue all of Ohio, sisters, Margaret Ann Morgan of Winnsboro, Mary Elizabeth Clanton and husband Lynn of Quitman, grandchildren, Aaron Williams, Allen Williams, Ashley Nichols, Alex Nichols, Michael Calderon, Madelynn Calderon, Katelynn Johns, Sarah Aulsbrook, Shelby Aulsbrook, Seth Johns, Kora Burill, Peyton Burill, Zane Roberts and Cade Roberts, great-grandchild, Bevin Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Christopher Nichols. Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church Building Fund, 297 Texas Street, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
