Norma was my aunt, my favorite 'Auntie Nonie' when I was a little girl. She always so good to me and I loved her dearly. Norma was the youngest of 3 children, my mother Allene, and their brother Richard. Both of them preceded her in death. She lost her first husband to TB when I was 6. She moved to Amarillo,Tx with her 6 year old son and her mother. She meet Joe Haberlin there and they were married. They had 2 children, my precious cousin Kathy and her brother John. Joe was stationed in France for 3 years and later served in Viet Nam. Norma was the one who took care of her family during each of these separation. She did it with quiet strength, faith, and grace. I always loved going to her house, it was filled with laughter, love, and good times. She was a great cook and always made fresh baking powder biscuits for me. Nothing like them in the world!! Even as an adult going through a divorce, she was comforting and helped me so much. She had to bury two husbands, not an easy thing but she handled each loss with grace and faith. She has missed Joe since he died in 2002 and I now they are rejoicing together today. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and it is comforting to know without any doubt that we will gather again someday. I pray she always knew she was loved.
