Obituary of Auvis May

Funeral services for Auvis Oleta May, age 96, of the Shirley Community will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2013 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley May officiating. Interment will follow at Miller Grove Cemetery with John Tyson Cox, Brian Anthony Cox, John Michael May, Darrell David May, Clark Lester May and John Willard Cox serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 4:00 one hour prior to service time at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. May passed away Friday, June 13, 2013 at Hunt County Regional Hospital in Greenville. Mrs. May was born on October 6, 1916 in the Shirley Community the daughter of Robert D and Vessie (Gooslby)Adair. She married Hebert Lester May on June 17, 1939 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1974. Mrs. May was a homemaker and a caretaker to several ladies. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Cox of Caddo Mills, TX, son, Derrell May of Miller Grove, TX, sister, Alice Russell of West, TX, grandchildren, Tyson Cox of Greenville, TX, Trent Cox of Ethiopia, Tony Cox of Caddo Mills, TX, David May, Clark May, Amanda May all of Miller Grove, TX, John Michael May of Mesquite, great-grandchildren, Demi Weatherford, Kalea Weatherford, Addison May, Brooklyn May, Kellen Cox, Jack Cox, Riley Cox, Garrett Cox, Ty Cox, Lilly Cox, Chandler Cox, Desta Cox, Lukas and Rylan May. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Pat Adair, Bill Adair and Dan Adair, sister, Mozelle Walker, and one son Lester Carroll May.
