Obituary of Carolyn Stunkard

Funeral service for Carolyn Sue (Blount) Stunkard, age 65, of Cumby, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Brashear Baptist Church with Bro. David Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Miller Grove Cemetery with Justin Lytle, Lee Olson, David Lynch, Chad Blount, Ray Sparks, and Alan Rivers serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Stunkard passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 at her residence. Mrs. Stunkard was born on May 24, 1946 in Sulphur Springs, TX, the daughter of Nolan Douglas and Mary Frances (Cherry) Blount. She married Terry Lane Stunkard on April 23, 1979 in Rockwall, TX. He survives. Mrs. Stunkard was a member of Brashear Baptist Church. She worked as a food service manager for Miller Grove ISD for eleven years. In addition to her husband, other survivors include her mother, son, Brandon Lee Stunkard and wife Heather LeAnn of Cumby, brother, Don Blount and wife Nancy of Garland, step-daughters, Stacie Lee Strickland of Jefferson and Dina Ann Stunkard of Odessa, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, and step-daughter, Kimberly Dawn Stunkard. Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
