Obituary of Monna McClung

Services PendingFuneral services for Monna Aquila Emerson McClung, age 96, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Spence Chapel First Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Lewis and Rev Mark Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with the grandsonÂ’s, Brad Bridges, Andy Bridges, Ryan Bridges, Mike OÂ’Campo, Jay McClung and Lane McClung serving as pallbearers Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to service time at Spence Chapel. Mrs. McClung passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Carriage House Manor. Mrs. McClung was born on January 12, 1918 in Sulphur Bluff, TX, the daughter of Luther and Verona (Moore) Emerson. She married Raymond McClung on March 22, 1947 in Farmersville, TX. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2012. Mrs. McClung worked for Buckner Baptist ChildrenÂ’s Home as a teacher and then for Sears as an assistant manager for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs. She is survived by her children, Sarah Bridges and husband Bernard, Garry McClung and wife Patsy, grandchildren, Brad Bridges, Andy Bridges, Ryan Bridges, Elizabeth Bridges OÂ’Campo, Jay McClung and Lane McClung, great-grandchildren, Hayden OÂ’Campo, Johni and Jayci McClung and Lakin McClung, brother, Lee Emerson. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Velva Emerson, Lou Cunningham, Glen Emerson, LRoy Emerson and Bud Emerson.
