Obituary of Marjorie Clement
Graveside service for Marjorie Jane Clement, 91, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Rev. Charles Moore officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Clement, Chip Herschler, Stephen Bonner, Tom Sellers, John Campbell, Ben Dickerson, Barry Holcomb, Jose Hernandez and Jimmie Lynn Harrison. Mrs. Clement passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at her residence. She was born on September 14, 1922 in Sulphur Springs, the daughter of John G. Reynolds, Sr. and Annye (Lindsey) Reynolds. She was married to Richard Wallace Clement for 66 years. He survives. She was a homemaker, a secretary at the county court house and for several lawyers, she worked for TX DPS DriverÂ’s license office, and was also over the City Cemetery Lot sales, for over 22 years. She was a tremendous asset to the cemetery according to Mrs. Anita Jones. Mrs. Clement was the very first Woman to be named Citizen of the Year in 1961. She is survived by her son, Carlise Clement and wife Carol Ann of Sulphur Springs, grandson, Christopher Clement of Sulphur Springs, and granddaughter, Natalie Ann Clement of Australia. She also leaves behind a sister, Annie Lou Dickerson and sister-in-law, Billie Grace Reynolds, her caregivers, Margaret Harris, Lillian Childs, Ester Vaughn, Pat Morgan and Billie Duvall, and many close friends.
