Obituary of Wanda Ruth Harris Whitmore

Funeral services for Wanda Ruth Harris Whitmore, age 66, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Mel Haven Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. Wanda passed away on October 4, 2019 at her residence. She was born on July 13, 1953 in Sulphur Springs, the daughter of Sammie and Pearl Lee Kelly Harris. She was a member of Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and worked for Sulphur Springs Independent School District for over 35 years. She is survived by husband, James Whitmore of Sulphur Springs, daughter, Moneshia Whitmore of Irving, son, Brandon Whitmore of Sulphur Springs, sisters, Alice Williams (Dave) of Dallas, Annie Wilkerson (Jerry) of Sulphur Springs, Emma Delcambre of Sulphur Springs, Jane Clayton of Desoto, brother, Sammie Harris Jr. of Dallas, eight grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Thelma Williams and Dorothy Peace, and brother, W.C. Finney.
