To those of you lucky enough to have known Ralph, you and I were both fortunate. We were blessed with the spirit of a warm, funny and incredibly talented man that I'm very proud to have called my friend. Ralph and I became friends during our time together working at the IBM Westlake complexes. Ralph worked for Dover Elevator and I worked for Johnson Controls. I knew from the beginning that we had hit it off forming a great friendship. I remember being invited over to play video games, then later being invited to go hunting. Years later I would purchase the house Ralph and Sharon shared in Irving for so long. Ralph had sat me down once, asking me to listen to his advise, as I was going through a rough patch in my marriage. I listened to Ralph and heard him loud and clear, today I've been married for almost 30 years. Ralph Casey Marriage Counseling, words of wisdom from my friend. Ralph and I started playing golf together, we called it "hacking the ball." Neither of us was very good, but the time together made for great conversations. Ralph earned the name Yukon Jack during a hunting trip, maybe I should not tell that story. Ralph had a corky wit about him and a laugh that you could hear for a mile. Ralph once played a joke on me by putting elevator cable grease on my windshield and waiting to call me after the very next rain. For some, you may not understand, but grease when wet will cause what appears to be colorful rainbows on auto glass not allowing you to see out. The only way to get this off is from the outside, I was soaked. Needless to say, that is one of the great moments we shared, later laughing about the small practical jokes we played on each other. Ralph was one of the best individuals that I have had in my life, I will truly miss him and his sense of humor.
To Ralph; Thank you for touching my life. I was lucky to be your friend and call you my friend. I will always remember the good times we had together.
