Obituary of William "Bill" Melvin Sheaffer

William “Bill” Melvin Sheaffer, age 67, of Sulphur Springs, passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. He was born on January 18, 1952 in Charleston, SC. He spent his youth on the lakes in Minnesota with his grandparents. He loved fishing, camping, and being outdoors. He could craft almost anything from wood. Bill graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1970 and from Southwest Missouri State in 1983. He was a retired senior tool engineer in the medical industry. Bill married JoAnn McGarity in 1971, in Sulphur Springs, TX. He was faithful about attending church and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Georgetown, TX. He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Sheaffer, daughters, Jennifer Yarbrough and husband Ron of Round Rock, TX, Jamee Mars and husband Michael of Talco, TX, grandchildren, Kristopher, Abigail, and Zakkary Yarbrough, and LeighAnn Mars. He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy William Sheaffer and his grandparents, Mel and Delilah Sheaffer. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
