I loved Warren Chancellor. Who didn’t? To know him was to love him. I met him when he moved to Emory. He had a wonderful and engaging spirit with a quick wit and a keen mind. Always with twinkle in his eye seizing on every opportunity to turn the conversation toward fun. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh. I don’t recall ever seeing him in a bad mood. We shared a love for the Texas Longhorns and world affairs. There didn’t seem to be a subject he wasn’t knowledgable about. He was bright and kind and full of love. He made all of us better. He was one of the finest men I ever knew. I will miss him.

Warren wrote me letters from France in 1944 while defending our country. I was six years old and scrawled replies that he faithfully answered. He was a Renaissance Mankind and had unbounded love his children and family.
