Obituary of Douglas Lee Markham

A memorial service for Douglas Lee Markham, 80, of Emory will be held on December 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Lake Fork Baptist Church in Alba with Bro. Perry Crisp officiating. Interment will follow in Denton. Mr. Markham died on December 2, 2018 in Emory. He was born on May 3, 1938 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Howard Douglas and Lovenge Markham. He married Carol Markham in Burleson on June 9, 1990. Mr. Markham retired from Bell Helicopter after 37 years. He was a member of Lake Fork Baptist Church, the Lake Fork Golf Association, and the North East Texas Choral Society. He is survived by wife of 36 years; son, Randy Markham and wife Shelly of Denton, step-son, Dale Rhine of Emory; daughter, Liana Loggins and husband Jim of Celina; step-daughter, Lisa Lundquist and husband Jim of Cleburne; brothers, Robert Markham and wife Kay of Whitesboro, and Mike Markham and wife Nancy of Fort Worth; sisters, Zelma Kruger and husband Doug of Krugerville, and Thersa Haggard and husband Howard of Broken Bow, OK; grandchildren, Katie Markham of Denton, Chance Loggins of Celina, Jennifer  Briggs and husband Bill of Godley, Keely and Kristen Lundquist of Cleburne, Amy Rhine of Joshua and Samantha Rhine of Bonham; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Jaci and Averie Briggs of Godley, Bailee and Maddison Fortune of Cleburne, Axel Taylor of Cleburne and Austin and Cash Rhine of Joshua. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kristen Lundquist; and nephew, Kevin Haggard. Arrangements are under the direction of Lake Fork Baptist Church in Alba.
