Obituary of Victor Cosme
Funeral service for Victor Manuel Cosme, Sr., 61, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Max Cosme and Bro. Bruce Stinson officiating. Military graveside honors will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The Hopkins County SheriffÂ’s Department is providing the Honor Guard which consists of Tony Crouse, Corley Weatherford, Koby Hume, Walt Kimmel, Wade Sheets, Brad Cummings, and Gary McLarry. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Victor passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the V.A. Hospital in Dallas. He was born on April 8, 1952 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, the son of Maximino Cosme and Aurea Alicea. He was of the Protestant Faith. He served in the United States Marines for 22 years. Victor worked as a SheriffÂ’s Deputy at Hopkins County SheriffÂ’s Department and retired as Sergeant after 20 years. He was also a huge proponent of the Dare Program. He is survived by his mother, sons, Victor Cosme, Jr. of New York, Kristopher Cosme of Ohio, Max Cosme of Sulphur Springs, Miguel Cosme of Sulphur Springs, granddaughter, Emma Cosme of San Antonio, sisters, Lillian Escobar of Sulphur Springs, Nilda Cosme of New York, Clara Cosme of New York, and Maria Cosme of New York.
