Obituary of Mary A. Rawson

Funeral services for Mary A. Rawson, age 97, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Tira United Methodist Church with Andy Wright officiating.  Interment will follow at Tira Cemetery with Con Markides, JR Durst, Ken Crowson, Jimmy Smith, David Phillips, and Harold Cowley serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 1:30 prior to service time at the church. Mary passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Hopkins Place. Mary was born on January 2, 1921 in Sandhill, TX, the daughter of Robert Lamuel Lawrence and Myrtle Mae Ferguson Lawrence. She married William Dwight Rawson on October 8, 1938 in Cooper.  He preceded her in death.  Mary was a homemaker. She is survived by her son Danny Rawson and wife Judy of Denton, granddaughter, Dr. Michelle Markides and her husband, Dr. Constantine Markides, and most beloved great-granddaughter, Sophie Markides of Houston, sisters, Georgia Smith of Tira and Joyce Johnson of Mesquite. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents.  Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
