Our deepest sympathy for your loss. Dr. Ben was a wonderful dentist for us both and a super nice man, whom we both remember very fondly from our childhoods and teenage years. Lynn says he had a knack for always beating him in the SS Country Club golf tournaments! He definitely left a positive mark on the Sulphur Springs community and did much toward making the town a better place.

Dr. Ben and his wife Ann were best friends with my parents growing up in a group of best friends who were the greatest people to look up to as a child. they were happy, loved their family, worked hard, cared for each other and they all cared for us - their kids. this was long before the phrase "it takes a village " was coined. The Woods were an "open door" family. Knock and c'mon in. I loved them do so and Dr. Ben took care of my teeth too. I can still recall the smell of the clean office. I remember the calming fish tank, but most of all I remember his smile and comforting ways. we grew up together- we kids of our great parents. I looked up to them. they never let us down. Dear family of Dr. Ben, I'm so sorry for your loss. He's just moved on and we will all be reunited one great day. I love you all. my life was made fuller with many happy memories because of your sweet family. The head of the family being the great person, Dr. Ben Wood. God bless you all. rest in peace.

Praying for all of you. I had the pleasure of meeting Ben Sr when he was at the Carlyle in Southlake. I was very impressed with him and the sweet things he had to say about his sweet family. God bless you all and may you feel His presences.

I am so sorry for your loss. My family has been so connected to Dr.Ben Derryl Wood and his sweet Mary. Dr. Ben's mother Lois Wood was my awesome fifth grade teacher at Lamar Elementary. Dr. Wood was my husband Johnny Y. Elliott's scout leader. He was our family dentist when we lived in Sulphur Springs. Dr. Ben and Mary were very involved, wonderful, parents. I had the privilege of teaching their daughter Karen in first grade at Travis Elementary. Johnny met Dr. Ben on a fishing pier here in Corpus and had a visit. Karen came to my school to teach an in-service and I went up to her at break time and asked her if her father was a dentist in Sulphur Springs and she looked at me and we both teared up and as we hugged she said "Miss Armstrong you've gotten shorter" and I responded "Karen you've gotten taller". Heaven is going to be a much happier place now that Dr. Ben, Mary, his dad, my Lois Wood and my husband Johnny are there.
