Obituary of John T. Johnson

Funeral services for John T. Johnson, age 72, of Cumby will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Moore, Bro. Chris Pipkin and Bro. James Wascom officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Cumby with David Singleton, Mitch Singleton, Ted Chandler, Harold Nicholson, Mark Corey, Thomas Jefferson, Brandon Byrd, and Jeff Newton serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016 at West Oaks Funeral Home. John passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016, in Cumby. John was born July 27, 1943 in Savory, Texas, the son of John Eastes Johnson and Zola V. Dozier Johnson. John has been married to Esther for 45 years. She survives. John worked as a commercial sheet medal mechanic for several years. John was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by son, Randon Johnson and wife, Christi, daughters, Marie Hofferber and husband, Jerry, Tammy Corey and husband, Mark, of Frisco, Deborah Byrd and husband, Ronnie, of Frisco, Melissa Jefferson and husband, Thomas, of Frisco, brother, Billy Johnson and wife, Brenda of Quitman, sister, Sharon Newton and husband, Larry, of Cumby, grandchildren, Christa Johnson, Brittni Corey, Ashlei Jefferson, Brandon Byrd, Rylei Jefferson, Andrea Johnson, all of Frisco, great grandchildren, Taeya Johnson, and Jayden Massiah, sister-in-law, Martha Singleton of Cumby.
