Obituary of Lorraine Taylor Westbrook
Lorraine Taylor Westbrook, 93, of Sulphur Springs, left this world peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Paris Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Jordan officiating. Visitation will precede the service, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Como Cemetery with great-grandsons, Blake Irving, Cody Gowin, Taylor Kinney, Hunter Coleman, Matt Kinney and Mason Gowin serving as pallbearers.
She was born Nov. 22, 1922 in Flora Vista, New Mexico, the daughter of William Clyde Yarbrough and V.Annis Eldredge Yarbrough. She married Jeff Ector Taylor, Jr., and they spent most of their married life in Como, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1982. She later married R.B. Westbrook, who also preceded her in death.
She was a Christian, a member of the Baptist faith and the proud mother of four children: Sandra Trumble, Clara Janis Taylor, Jeff “Butch” Taylor and V.Annis Taylor Grimes. She adored her family and had a special place in her heart for her son-in-law, Ray David Grimes.
She held numerous jobs through her lifetime, but was a homemaker first and foremost. She loved antiques, crocheting, sewing, reading and telling stories from her childhood.
She is survived by a daughter, V.Annis Taylor Grimes and husband, Ray Grimes, of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren Lora Gowin, David Grimes, Connie Kinney, Amy Keys and husband, Scott Keys, Lonnie Taylor, Joseph Trumble and John Trumble; great-grandchildren Blake Irving, Macey Long, Cody Gowin, Taylor Kinney, Bailee Coleman, Kelsie Gowin, Hunter Coleman, Matthew Kinney, Mason Gowin, Austin Grimes, Dylan Taylor, Gracie Taylor, Kaylee Trumble, Brantley Trumble and Kelly Keys; great great-grandchildren Trenton Irving and “one on the way”; and two brothers, Aldon Yarbrough and Kenneth Yarbrough.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Taylor III; two daughters, Sandra Kay Trumble and Clara Janis Taylor; one grandson, Windell Gowin; one brother; and four sisters.
