Obituary of Cynthia Kay Young

Funeral Service for Cynthia Kay Young, age 69, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted on Friday, February 19, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Barbara Kelton officiating. Jay Young, Chad Young, Pete Howk, Mark Hamblin, David McCatty and Warren Brewer will be serving as Pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service, at the church. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, in Sulphur Springs, TX. Cynthia passed away at Carriage House Manor on February 16, 2016. She was born on October 27, 1946, in Sulphur Springs, TX, the daughter of A.B. Young and Dorothy Elmira Turner Young. Cynthia was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church. She retired from Verizon after 20 years, a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School in 1964, was captain of the Blue Blazes in its second year and a member of High King Club. She is survived by her brother, Larry Don “Butch” Young and wife Betty of Sulphur Springs, sister, Jean Howk of Rockwall, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Brett Young, and a sister, Carol Ann Young. The family of Cynthia Kay Young would like to thank all the CNA’s, Nurses’ and staff of Carriage House Manor and Legacy Hospice for all their special care.
