Obituary of Arvel L. Boney

Funeral service for Arvel L. Boney, age 75 of Emory, TX, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Potts officiating. Military Graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Greenview Cemetery with Sherry Millsap, Barbara Potts, Cheryl Stephens, Doris Ann Murdock, Jamie Lewis and Tina Brumley serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 4, 2015, at West Oaks Funeral Home. Arvel passed away on Thursday December 3, 2015, at the Wood Memorial Nursing Center, in Mineola, TX. Arvel was born on December 18, 1939 in Denison, TX, the son of Rodney W. Boney and Katherine Flagg Boney. He married Emmie Potts in Dallas, TX, in 1960. Arvel served in the United States Air Force, and worked in Commercial Construction. He was a Master Mason for over 40 years, enjoyed antique cars, hunting and the outdoors. He is survived by his wife Emmie Potts Boney, son, Tim Boney and wife Nora of Trophy Club, TX, daughter, Angela Gowin of Emory, TX, brother, Bob Boney and wife Linda of Corinth, TX, sister, Rachel McDowell and husband Larry of Nacogdoches, TX, 7 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Phil Anthony Boney, daughter, Ronnie Walters, brothers, Earnest Boney, Carl Boney, sisters, Mamie McQueen and Christine Robinson.
