Obituary of James Joseph Barnhart

Funeral service for James Joseph Barnhart, 84, of Como, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Cook officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to service. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Como Coffee Shop and the employees of Barnhart Farming. Mr. Barnhart passed away on January 18, 2015 at his residence. He was born on February 24, 1930 in Union Town, Pennsylvania, the son of Leroy Cunningham and Ida Truninger Barnhart. He married Mary Kuchta on December 26, 1951 in Burlington, NJ. She survives. Mr. Barnhart served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and worked as a dairy farmer. In addition to his wife, Mary Barnhart, he is also survived by children, Babs Clark and husband Danny of Poteau, OK, Bonny Barnhart Walker of Miller Grove, Jamie Humphrey and husband Mark of Como, Jimmy Barnhart and wife Krista of Como, grandchildren, Samantha Parkhill and husband Jason of Lindsay, Josie Burchfield and husband Kevin of Como, Lisa Potter and husband Jeremy of Sulphur Springs, Mandi Garhartt and husband Dustyn of San Diego, CA, Mitchell Walker of Sulphur Springs, Kathryn Humphrey of Como, Clayton Humphrey of Como, Rebecca Hicks and husband Bryan of Como, Sheala Barnhart of Como, Kason Barnhart of Como, Jurnee Barnhart and fiance Buster Hayward of Como, great-grandchildren, Jenna Parkhill, Colton Clark, Jalyn Burchfield, Auston Burchfield, Hunter James Potter, Halee Potter, Easton Hicks, Jaci Hicks, Javen Barnhart, Joslin Barnhart, Jenesis Barnhart, sister, Carolyn (KyKy) Snyder and husband Bruce of Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Denton Joseph Barnhart, and sisters, Marion Beal and Lilajean Eutsey.
