Obituary of Lu Linda Jennings

Funeral Services for Lu Linda Jennings, 61, of Emory, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 19, 2012 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rusty Jennings officiating. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery with Phillip Jennings, Grant Jennings, Jarred Jennings, Miles Tucker, Jim Teetes, and Andy Jennings serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hughes, Joe Hughes, Zack Tucker, Bobby Jennings, and Cecil Jennings. Visitation will be Sunday, March 18, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mrs. Jennings passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 at her residence. She was born on March 16, 1951 in Tyler, TX, the daughter of Thomas Dillon Hughes and Billie Faye Harris Hughes. She married Phillip Jennings on July 11, 1970 in Greenville, TX, he survives. Mrs. Jennings was a kindergarten teacher at Alba-Golden Elementary School for 32 years, retiring in June 2005. After retirement, she worked at H&R Block for 5 years. She was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church of the Bonanza Community. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and CBS of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother Billie Faye Hughes of Sulphur Springs, her children, Anja Tucker and husband Miles of Golden TX, Layne Teetes and husband Jim of Sulphur Springs, Grant Jennings and wife Shantel of Golden, TX, Jarred Jennings and wife Toni of Brenham, TX, brothers, Bill Hughes of Longview, TX, Joe Hughes and wife Rosemary of Plano, TX, Tommy Hughes and wife Beverly of Charleston, SC. Grandchildren, Abby Tucker, Zack Tucker, Trent Jennings, Jake Jennings, Olivia Jennings, Colt Jennings, Carson Holton, Brooklyn Jennings, Case Jennings, and Gracie Teetes.
